In the run up to the G20 summit happening in downtown Toronto, international journalists were treated to Conservative transparency [Toronto Star, International media learn the ways of Toronto — and politicians]
This is what the foreign and local media wanted to know: Will local businesses be reimbursed for G20 losses?No, Viviana, he did not. But, that's what we've come to expect from this government.
They leaned in, recorders extended.
“A protocol mechanism is in place to deal with all those concerns,” said a practised Rob Moore, minister of state for tourism and small business. [...]
“So you’ll compensate?” a local reporter prodded.
“Thank you,” Moore replied, stepping away.
