Selective Hearing

“We offered to hear from Canadians on this issue and they have already spoken loud and clear. They overwhelmingly do not want to open the issue. The Government will not proceed any further to change our national anthem.”

Dimitri Soudas, official spokesman for the Prime Minister
[H/T, Stephen Taylor]

However, they apparently ignored Canadians on the issue of prorogation.

Actually, Harper really wanted to change O Canada to O Conada ... but he was advised that he should wait until his majority. Changing this line was relatively safe, or so they thought ... LOL

This is an aside. It isn't difficult to understand why the Harper Government wants to sell off the CBC to private broadcasters. This country will be in a sorry mess if CBC is sold. We will not ever get unbiased reports again. Please protest this attempt to let CBC go.
