Just Curious

I'm curious to know what Charles McVety and all the socially conservative supporters of the Conservative Party who voted in the advance polls are saying now that their tax dollars are once again going to fund "offensive" films? After all, films promoting homosexuality, graphic sex or violence should not receive tax dollars or so we are told.

More importantly, when are social conservatives going to realize that they are just being used as props by Stephen Harper to obtain electoral victory?

How is he using them as props? if anything, he is trying to downplay his relationship with them so that he can sneak in his own socially conservative agenda. I'm sure Harper needs votes from more progressive people in Urban Ontario and Quebec than he does from a bunch of bumpkins who think homosexuality is some kind of sin.

McVety and his crew may not be too concerned at this point. After all this is a HARPER ELECTION PROMISE . . . just like accountability was.

Noamzs,
I'm not entirely disagreeing with you, but how would you feel if you're a so con publicly championing so con legislation?

McVety took credit for C-10 that's now been (apparently) scrapped. "REAL Women" lauded C-10 ... so, as a so con, you either hope Harper's lying or you just realized you've had the rug pulled out from under you.

Honestly, I think it's the latter.

Sassy,

Exactly, some of them are hoping he's going to break this promise. I just don't know how they would campaign for it.
