I'm happy to say that I was wrong when I ranted and raved about how Premier Dalton McGuinty wouldn't hold to his promise of ending faith-based arbitration in Ontario. I thought that Mr. McGuinty may cave to public pressure not to introduce the legislation but he didn't, or that he would seek some way out that tried to let everyone be happy but would end up with no one being happy.
I support this legislation 100%. I believe there should be one law governing family arbitration and not multiple avenues that carry the potential (or at least the perception of that potential) for unfairness. Advice can be sought from any source, but the law has to be fair to all.
