A Rare Look Inside My Brain

Here are a few things I have thought of while inebriated.

1. There is clear inconsistency within some cartoon universes where clothes are optional. Take the popular children's cartoon, Dora the Explorer. Pictured at right is Dora's best friend, Boots the monkey. Now, Boots is so named because he wears just boots.

What I couldn't find was a picture of Boots' parents. Now if you are at all familiar with Dora the Explorer, then you've probably seen them, but probably haven't noticed that his parents are always fully clothed. Boots's father wears a shirt and tie.

Don't they find it odd that their kid runs around in public with nothing on but a pair of red boots?

If you live in a universe where fully anthropomorphic animals are the norm, wouldn't you make sure your kids dressed?

Dora the Explorer isn't the only cartoon that fails this consistency check. The Little Bear universe suffers from this too.

2. While we're on the subject of anthropomorphic animals, how come in some cartoons, some animals are walking and talking, but others are not?

For example, popular childrens cartoon Arthur, the main character, Arthur, an anthropomorphic anteater has a pet dog. Now, in this universe, rabbits, anteaters, and other animals are walking, talking, and going to school - but dogs haven't evolved yet. Why?

3. What flavour is Dr. Pepper?

I can't answer the other questions.

As for #3: I have always thought of it as Cola+Root Beer.
