I'm Not Sure I See the Point

Today, the Ontario Progressive Conservatives entered a motion of non-confidence in light of the Greg Sorbara issue.

I'm not sure I see the point, and not just from a tactical standpoint. Even if the NDP were to join up with the motion, the Liberals will just quash it with numbers alone.

There would be no "message" sent that the Liberals condone misguided cabinet ministers. Timing aside, Mr. McGuinty could have been a lot slower than he was.

I don't see it because, well, I don't honestly believe Premier McGuinty nor the Liberal government had a hand in Mr. Sorbara's alleged dealings and so I'm not sure what a non-confidence motion on this would be about. If Mr. Sorbara did have shady transactions, it still didn't do anything to undermine the government of Ontario, in my opinion.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

So, to Mr. Tory, go back to hammer Premier McGuinty on the issues. That's your strength.

I think John Tory was more or less making a point. Although this point could have been equally addressed in a press scrum, which would have been better, since it would be wasting the money and time of tax payers.

Other than that I think Mr. Tory is doing a good job and I look forward to next Ontario election and giving McSquinty the boot.
