Louisiana Senator Thanks Canada

Quoted from the CBC, Louisiana senator: Thank you Canada:

A Louisiana state senator has praised a Canadian search and rescue team. Senator Walter Boasso said a Vancouver-based team reached St. Bernard parish five days before the U.S. army got there.

"Fabulous, fabulous guys," Boasso said. "They started rolling with us and got in boats to save people ... We've got Canadian flags flying everywhere."

...

Boasso saved his praise for the Canadians and their quick work. "They were so glad to be here," he said. "They're still here. They are actually going door-to-door looking in the attics" for people to rescue.
I wouldn't presume to say "you're welcome", as it's not my butt in New Orleans, but I'm proud of all of our efforts to help out down south.

Along with the four ships heading out from Halifax, I'm sure our efforts will prove valuable in the relief effort.

Tell Ophelia to get out of the way though.

Nice that some people in the US Administration remember to say a kindly a think you for your help. Given what the Senator is dealing with and the fact that she must be swamped in work right, the simple fact that she took the 30 seconds to say "thank you" speaks volumes of her character.

I wish the Senator and all her people good luck in repairing and rebuilding, and I hope they bounce back with 10 times the strength and human spirit from this disaster.
