Okay. I've been hit with spam bots since I posted about Hurricane Katrina - I think it has something to do with all the Technorati and/or Google searching for the hurricane.
I've turned on that "word verification" thing in Blogger to hopefully kill them off.

Test.
Ok. That works.
Now I'm spamming my own blog. :)
I did the same thing a couple of days ago. I got rid of the spammers but somehow, along the way, I got rid of everyone else.
Result?
I removed the commenting from my blog. I didn't serve any useful purpose anyway.
"it" din't serve any useful purpose anyway.
Sorry.
"Computer -- it doesn't spell worth a damn!"
Well, I know when I go to a blog that doesn't offer comments (not yours in particular), and I read a particularly compelling post and I feel like I need to vent / rant / comment /congratulate directly, as it seems the most likely route to get a comment to the poster, I get all "pouty" when I don't see the comments available.
Similarly, I encourage people to VRCC (tm) directly with me as well - all comments are emailed directly to me.
The alternate, I suppose, is to create a post directly talking about that post and hoping the comment gets noticed.
