Hurricane Katrina has made landfall between Grand Isle, Louisiana, and the mouth of the Mississippi River, the National Hurricane Center reports. Although New Orleans was braced for a direct hit, experts suggest that coastal Mississippi may bear the brunt of the storm. At 7:10 a.m. ET, Katrina had maximum sustained winds of 140 mph.
